Bessie Mae: Monday’s Adoption Pet 10/03/16
Breed: Cairn Terrier
Sex: spayed female
Organization: Scratch My Belly
Bessie Mae is not only an adorable Cairn Terrier, but she’s also an incredible tripod rock star. We don’t know how she lost her leg, but it definitely doesn’t define her ability to enjoy a great walk, or having fun, and playing at the dog park. Bessie Mae was rescued from a very high kill shelter in L.A. by Scratch My Belly rescue, who saw the beauty in this special little lady, and realized that a three-legged dog had very little chance of ever being adopted. They believe Bessie Mae must’ve been a companion to a senior citizen because she loves individual attention and lots of lap time. She may do well in a home with older kids, as well, who can respect her slight disability. Bessie is currently being cared for by a foster family with three other dogs and four kids…she’s loving every minute of her life, and we hope to keep it that way.
