Betty Ford addiction treatment center for adults, teens comes to San Diego
The Betty Ford outpatient clinic will treat both teens and adults
DEL MAR HEIGHTS – The Betty Ford Center is coming to San Diego. The new outpatient addiction center will open in mid-December.
The outpatient clinic will treat both adults and teens as young as 16. Much the therapy will be done in a group setting. The clinic will also offer COR-12; a Comprehensive Opioid Response- 12 step program.
It’s designed to keep adults and teens addicted to drugs like pain killers engaged in treatment long enough to keep them from relapsing. Patients enrolled in this clinic will also have access to mental health services.
“We’re going to have integrated mental health professionals in the building who have co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety that often accompany chemical dependency,” explains interim director Janelle Wesloh.
Betty Ford is a private facility, but Wesloh says the clinic does accept insurance and in some cases can offer patients financial aide.
The clinic is still under construction. It will open to patients by the end of the year. The staff will hold open house in January.
