CAPTURED: Billy Boy Reed

A man with a history of drugs and a DUI crash that hurt 3 people was taken into custody Tuesday after tips from several viewers, according to the San Diego Fugitive Task Force.

36-year-old Billy Boy Reed was arrested at a house on the Barona Indian Reservation without incident, according to Deputy U.S. Marshal Adam Groff.  Groff said the viewer tips were instrumental in the arrest.

“He was lying pretty low.”

Reed was featured in Sunday’s San Diego Fugitive of the Week segment.

The Fugitive Task Force says Reed has gotten into multiple DUI crashes. Reed disappeared while on parole for a 2010 felony DUI that seriously hurt 3 people, Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Steve Jurman said.

“Reed poses a significant danger to the public, especially the motorists who frequent San Diego roads,” Jurman said during Sunday’s segment. “The sooner we can get him off the street, the safer San Diego will be.”

San Diego Fugitive of the Week airs Sundays during the 10 p.m. newscast. Viewers can call (877) WANTED-2 to provide tips to the San Diego Fugitive Task Force.
