Six-month-old Chevy is a handsome, short haired Russion Blue Mix. He’s a fun, playful and loving cat and the perfect companion!  Like all cats at the Friends of Cats Shelter, Chevy has been tested for any diseases, is current on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered and comes with a free vet visit after adoption.  The shelter asks for a donation of $100 to help defray his costs and to help the next kitty in the que. Friends of Cats is a no-kill shelter for cats located in El Cajon on Olde Highway 80, just east of Lake Jennings Park Road.  It’s open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 to 3:30. There are more than 270 cats at any given time, and about half of the cats at the shelter are adoptable.  It’s a great organization and I encourage you to show them some love by coming out to their annual CAToberfest tomorrow, Saturday, October 1st from 11-to–3.  It’s hosted by local celebrity Coe Lewis, admission is free, and includes raffles, kitten races, German food buffet, Cat Boutique and many other fun activities!
