Hitch’s story is quite sad. He was found living in squalor after being abandoned in an apartment after a family moved out. He was left to scrounge through trash for ketchup packages to eat. He was literally starving, and that has created a fear in him of being without food. Because of this, he can be a little protective of food and treats. While he plays with other dogs, and currently lives with another dog, he’s still learning that he won’t be allowed to starve again. Pit Bull Rescue San Diego thinks he might be better as an only pet or with someone experienced in resource guarding. Hitch loves to snuggle with his human and canine friends. Hitch sleeps on his back with his cheeks & gums flopping open. He also makes his foster family laugh by burying himself in the blankets. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and learning basic commands. His foster family wants him to find someone who will let him snuggle up on the couch, and take him on daily walks. Read more about Hitch, and submit an adoption application, at PBRSD.org.
